What's the difference between the resident and non-resident rate?

Columbia residents pay a lower rate because CA is partially funded through annual assessments on Columbia properties. When you enter your address above, we verify your eligibility automatically - no paperwork, no phone call. If your address isn't on an assessed property, you can still join at the non-resident rate, which is available at all tiers.

Can I join completely online right now?

Yes. Enter your address, confirm your rate, select your plan, and complete your purchase - all online. Your membership starts the same day. No appointment, no welcome desk visit required.

Is Play a year-round membership or just summer?

Play is a year-round membership. The 23 outdoor pools operate seasonally (summer only), but the Columbia Swim Center with SplashDown, the ice rink, the Skate Arena, tennis courts, and SportsPark access are available throughout the year.

What counts as "family" for the family rate?

Family pricing covers two adults at the same address plus any dependents under 18. When you build your membership online, you'll enter the number of dependents and the price adjusts accordingly. Individual and two-member rates are also available if family doesn't fit your situation.

What's the first month free offer about?

New members who join before Memorial Day 2026 receive their first month free. Your membership starts immediately and your first billing date is one month out. The offer applies to all Play tier memberships at both resident and non-resident rates.

Can I upgrade from Play to Fit & Play later?

Yes. You can upgrade your membership at any CA welcome desk or by contacting our membership team. The price difference is prorated. If you're not sure which tier is right for you, starting with Play and upgrading later is a perfectly reasonable approach.
